Core evaluation has undergone a rebirth thanks to unconventional plays both in North America and globally. It has become a fundamental piece during the exploration phase in terms of reservoir characterization and it continues to add value during the optimization phase of a development program.
So why do we pay so much attention to these homogeneous black rocks? They look the same! Come visit the core exhibit and have the opportunity to view the true variability of these tight reservoirs and get a better understanding of the sedimentology, petrology and reservoir characterization due to the fine grained nature of these rocks and the heterogeneous character through its mineralogy, organic matter distribution, lithologies and facies in these reservoirs.
You will have the opportunity to view the rocks while comparing to the analytical methods and results used to best understand these reservoirs. In addition you will now have the opportunity to see some summary area presentations to be conducted by service companies that have conducted these analyses.
